Not like “free beer tomorrow”, but free.

I’ve been shooting lots of nonprofit events over the past couple years and I don’t believe I’ve ever charged for one.  So, I wanted to make it official by saying, “I shoot nonprofit benefits for free”.

I do have a handful of stipulations:

  • The event’s PRIMARY purpose should be to raise money for a nonprofit (not networking or education that happens to have a charitable side-note)
  • The recipient nonprofit should be a registered 501(c)3
  • Event should have 50+ attendees
  • kapchur.us photography should be the official photographers (if others will be required they should coordinate through kapchur.us)
  • Maximum event shoot time of 3 hours ($100/hr overtime fee)
  • Public recognition should be given for the donation of the photography services (using logo if possible)
  • Food/drink should be provided to the photographer(s) & assistant(s) (if applicable)
  • Although I can’t think of any off the top of my head, I reserve the right to turn down organizations for personal reasons
What you can expect:
  • One or more professionally dressed and professionally acting photographers (sometimes with assistants for larger events)
  • Arrival 1 hour prior to event start time (the 3 hour limit starts at the start time of the event)
  • Original digital photos with watermark will be provided shortly after the event (usually within 48 hours) (2000 pixel longest edge, medium sized)
  • A blog post here about your event with some of the photos
  • A link to a Facebook album where your guests can view photos and tag themselves and friends, a post of the same link on your organization’s Facebook page (linking back to the kapchur.us Facebook album)
  • A link to a SmugMug gallery where guests can purchase photos (without watermark)
(Below is the ACLU of Washington banquet from 2011)

Of course any event I would do would be “schedule permitting”.  If you contact me about an event and we draw up an expectations list and we agree on the list and the date/time, you have locked me in to that date. 🙂

It was my pleasure to photograph the “Music. Promo. Social. The Industry Panel” presented by Gene Dexter of Gene DEX Public Relations.  A wonderful panel conversation about the evolving music industry and the collision with social media.

An amazing who’s who in the Seattle Music production community!!

Lots exciting going on lately for kapchur.us photography!

We’ve been shooting lots of head shots lately, booking summer 2012 and some 2013 weddings, shooting club events and hanging with some really fun folks!  Below is a smattering of some of the recent activity.

1) Reflection of Downtown Seattle from a pool of water on a Seattle Waterfront Pier

2) Mr. Kramer glowing under the beauty of Mt Baker

3) Mt. Baker putting on a beauty contest

4) Space Needle Flexes her muscles during sunrise

5) Winding lights going through downtown Seattle during the late night April 7

6) Gogo Dancers glisten under the laser rays at Neighbors Night Club for the weekly Undergrad event

We’ve branched out doing LOTS more headshots recently.  Some are for artists for their portfolios, others are more corporate style.

We’ve got great rates right now!  $125/head, no minimum!  If you have 10 or more in one session we’ll drop the rate to $75/head.  That’s usually a pretty good deal considering we come in and setup our mini-studio on-site or meet you at a pre-determined location.

UPDATE: Winners are…. PAUL & ERIC!  Congratulations gentlemen!!!!

On February 1, 2012 the Washington State Senate will be voting on Marriage Equality in the State of Washington which would allow same sex couples full access to the legal system of civil marriage. Although the bill passage may be challenged after the vote by referendum, it’s highly likely to still pass a statewide vote of the citizens. With that said, kapchur.us photography will be raffling off a wedding photo package for ONE very lucky same sex couple.  The drawing will be held on April 1.

So, what IS part of this package??? This package would include, an amazing 2 hour engagement shoot with a bottle of champagne to enhance the mood, and for the wedding day, a full day with two photographers (each photographer documenting the earlier prep for each of the two wedding participants), up to 15 hours of shooting in one day. We’ll then edit the photos, post the “best of the best” on Facebook for your friends and family (usually with 48 hours), then we’ll create a SmugMug gallery where you, your friends and family can order physical prints. We’ll also burn a set of the photos on DVD.

We would like to be able to use the photos taken during the winning ceremony as promotional material as well. Much more information on our wedding packages on our website: http://kaphcur.us/pricing

More details to be fleshed out with winning participants!

Travel expenses would need to be agreed upon if the wedding venue is 50 miles outside of Seattle.  If you live outside of Washington State, but would like to come to WA to get married feel free to enter!  WA State Citizens interested in a destination wedding outside of WA (same sex of course for the purposes of this raffle) need only pay for agreed upon travel expenses!

Questions or inquiries can be submitted on our website using the Contact Us form at the top of the page.

We CANNOT wait to share this special day with you! You’ll look amazing and we’ll capture the love and commitment you’ve shared for so long, that now FINALLY will be come legally recognized in the State of Washington, an historic moment for all of us!
